Proof-of-Play

Verified, timestamped logs confirming that a specific advertisement was displayed on a specific screen at a specific time.

Proof-of-Play (PoP) is the verified, auditable record that confirms a specific advertisement or piece of content was displayed on a specific screen at a specific date and time, for the specified duration. It is the fundamental accountability mechanism in digital out-of-home and retail media advertising.

Proof-of-play data is generated by the digital signage CMS or media player software and typically includes: the screen identifier, the creative file name and version, the exact start and end time of each play, the duration, and any relevant campaign metadata. This data is used to verify delivery against the contracted schedule, generate advertiser invoices, and provide campaign performance reports.

For retail media networks, 100% proof-of-play is a critical requirement for advertiser trust and revenue integrity. Advertisers need confidence that they are only billed for impressions that were actually delivered. The Adflux platform provides automated, 100% proof-of-play reporting for every campaign, with tamper-evident logs that can be shared directly with advertisers.
