Digital Signage CMS

Software that manages the scheduling, distribution, and playback of content across a network of digital display screens.

A Digital Signage Content Management System (CMS) is software that enables organisations to create, schedule, distribute, and manage content across a network of digital display screens from a centralised platform.

Core capabilities of a digital signage CMS include: content creation and template management, playlist scheduling with dayparting (time-based rules), screen grouping and targeting, remote device management and monitoring, and playback reporting. Modern digital signage CMS platforms support a wide range of media formats including video, images, HTML5, live data feeds, and social media integrations.

For retail environments, a digital signage CMS must also support advertising-specific requirements: campaign booking workflows, advertiser brand safety controls, proof-of-play reporting, and integration with programmatic advertising platforms. This is the distinction between a general-purpose digital signage CMS and a purpose-built retail media CMS like Adflux.
